Attribution and licensing for the sounds used in this build.
Almost every sound here is synthesized in the browser from a score, and is the work of this project. Nothing is sampled and nothing is loaded from anywhere else.
The one exception is the modem handshake.
Dial Up Sound, from Orange Free Sounds
Used under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International licence (CC BY-NC 4.0).
The recording was trimmed at the end and is otherwise unchanged. It is the same file, unmodified, that 56k.rip uses under the same credit.
This build is non-commercial, which is what that licence requires.
Chicago Kare, drawn by Susan Kare, revived by Duane King
Every word this machine draws is set in it, shipped here as SystemBitmap under the SIL Open Font License 1.1. Two things were changed: the family was renamed, and the Apple logo glyph was removed, because that mark is not this machine's to ship. The licence file says exactly what was done and carries the full OFL text.
Every other sound, every picture, every page of text and every icon here was made for it. The pictures are drawn from op lists rather than loaded as images, the pages are written rather than scraped, and the icons are drawn pixel by pixel.
The same credit appears inside the simulation, on the Member Agreement page you reach through the browser. This page exists so the attribution can be read without connecting or browsing, which is what an attribution licence asks for.
